How Interior Painting Works
Here's the general flow for an interior repaint:
Estimate & Color Discussion
We walk the space, talk through sheen and color, and give you a free written estimate.
Protect Everything
Furniture is moved or covered, floors are taped and shielded, and fixtures are masked off.
Prep the Surfaces
Nail holes are filled, glossy trim is scuffed, and problem areas are spot-primed so paint adheres evenly.
Cut In & Roll
Edges and corners are cut in by hand, then walls and ceilings are rolled for full, even coverage.
Second Coat
A second coat goes on once the first has dried, giving you consistent color and better durability.
Walkthrough & Cleanup
We check every wall with you in good light, touch up anything needed, and put your space back the way we found it.
Finishes & Prep Approach
We generally use flat or matte finishes on ceilings and low-traffic walls, eggshell or satin in living areas and bedrooms, and semi-gloss or satin on trim and doors where durability and wipeability matter more.
Older Charlotte homes often have layers of prior paint with uneven sheen — we scuff-sand and spot-prime those areas first so the new coat lays down evenly instead of highlighting old touch-ups.
We use premium professional-grade paint and apply two full coats on color changes, since a single thin coat is the most common reason a repaint looks patchy within a year.

Every project is different, so we quote after a walkthrough rather than guessing over the phone. Here's what generally moves the price and schedule:
